    PURE BUTYRATE™

PURE BUTYRATE™ delivers 960 mg of butyric acid per day, a natural energy source for the cells of the colon.Digestive comfort matters every day: after meals, at work, while traveling and when you’re active. PURE BUTYRATE™ delivers 960 mg of butyric acid per day, a natural energy source for the cells of the colon. Thanks to advanced MicroPelleting™ technology, the sodium butyrate is protected from premature release during digestion, so it reaches the colon, its key site of action.

    • Everyday gut comfort. At work, on the road and after meals. Butyric acid supports the intestinal lining, and its supplementation is being studied for easing certain digestive complaints.

    • Natural gut protection. Every day, the gut barrier separates the inside of your body from the contents of your digestive tract. Butyrate is involved in the mechanisms that keep this barrier tight.

    • Energy for gut cells. Colon cells renew themselves constantly, and butyric acid is one of their main sources of energy.

    • MicroPelleting™. Micropellets protect the butyrate from being released in the upper digestive tract, so it reaches the colon. As a bonus, butyrate’s unpleasant smell disappears.

Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet. For adults only. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use. This product is a source of sodium, which is worth keeping in mind if you follow a low-salt diet.

    Key benefits of PURE BUTYRATE™.

We start with what you may notice day to day: after meals, at work, on the road. Behind every benefit is a specific mechanism in the colon.

    01Comfort after meals

In a study of people with irritable bowel syndrome, microencapsulated sodium butyrate reduced the frequency of abdominal pain compared with placebo.4

    1. Lighter after meals

Potentially less discomfort and abdominal fullness. That’s what preliminary clinical studies in people with IBS suggest.4

    2. Less time thinking about your gut

Less attention spent on gut complaints at work, on the road and during training.

    3. No butyrate smell

Regular butyrate smells like rancid butter. Micropellets lock it inside, so the capsule is virtually odorless.

    02A better-functioning gut

Five mechanisms through which butyric acid supports normal colon function.

    1. 1The energy your gut needs every day

You support the basic processes that normal colon function depends on.

Colon cells work constantly to keep it functioning normally. Butyric acid is one of their main sources of energy, supporting their daily activity and renewal.1

    2. 2Natural protection you can rely on

You support your gut’s natural protective mechanisms, which help control your body’s contact with substances in the digestive tract every day.

Your gut isn’t just where digestion happens; it’s also one of your body’s key protective barriers. Butyric acid is involved in maintaining the junctions between intestinal epithelial cells, helping preserve the integrity of this barrier.6

    3. 3Continuous renewal for long-term gut health

You support biological processes that matter for keeping your gut in good condition over the long term.

The intestinal epithelium renews itself regularly, replacing worn-out cells with new ones. Butyric acid is involved in regulating the processes responsible for the function, differentiation and renewal of these cells.13

    4. 4Immune balance starts in the gut, too

You support mechanisms that help maintain normal immune balance in the gut.

The gut is one of the key sites of immune activity. Butyric acid is involved in regulating the immune response and pathways linked to inflammation.5,9

    5. 5The right environment for your microbiota

You support one of the mechanisms that help shape a normal colon environment.

Trillions of microorganisms live in the gut, helping break down food components and produce important metabolites. Butyric acid, used by epithelial cells, helps maintain conditions that favor anaerobic bacteria.

Butyrate is also being studied in the context of the gut–brain axis and glucose metabolism. These are research directions, not promises: supplementation has not been shown to boost energy, reduce post-meal drowsiness, improve focus or lower stress.

03The gut as the foundation of a healthy body
    • Energy and everyday performance

Digestion and nutrient absorption give your body energy for work, movement and daily activity.7

    • Brain and well-being

The gut communicates with the brain via the nervous, immune and hormonal systems. This interplay is involved in regulating mood and the stress response.8

    • Immunity

A large part of the immune system operates in the gut. The gut barrier and microbiota regulate the body’s contact with microbes.9

    • Metabolism and glucose

The microbiota and its metabolites take part in signaling related to energy use, glucose, insulin and gut hormones.10

    • Longevity and healthy aging

Barrier integrity, microbiota diversity and inflammatory balance are being studied in the context of healthy aging.11

    • Fitness and recovery

Good nutrient absorption supplies your muscles with what they need for exertion and repair.12

    • Intestinal barrier

The epithelium controls what passes from the gut lumen into the body. Butyric acid is involved in maintaining this barrier.6

    • Inflammatory balance

Microbiota metabolites, including butyrate, act on immune cells and inflammatory pathways.5,9

Different lifestyles. One goal: a well-functioning gut.

We designed the formula to meet the expectations of the most demanding.

    Proactive health

You look after your sleep, diet and movement, and treat supplements as part of the plan. Butyrate adds to your routine what good bacteria produce in the gut.

    Fast-paced lifestyle

Quick meals, few vegetables, legumes or whole grains. Less fiber means less raw material for bacteria to make butyrate from.

    Demanding training

Hard workouts, a tight schedule and a performance-driven diet. Your gut is part of your form too, so you look after it every day, not just your muscles.

Sodium butyrate (sodium salt of butanoic acid) · 1200 mg · including 960 mg of butyric acid1200 mg daily

Butyric acid is a fatty acid with four carbon atoms. In the colon, it is produced when bacteria ferment fiber, and it is used on the spot by epithelial cells, which get most of their energy from it. In supplements it is used as a salt, sodium butyrate: 1200 mg of sodium butyrate corresponds to 960 mg of butyric acid. There are no EU-authorized health claims for butyrate.

Mechanism: The sodium salt of butyric acid, a short-chain fatty acid (SCFA). The main energy source for colonocytes.

Butyric (butanoic) acid · 960 mg per daily serving960 mg

Along with acetate and propionate, it is one of the three main short-chain fatty acids in the colon. It is produced by bacteria of genera such as Faecalibacterium, Roseburia and Eubacterium. It acts locally: most butyrate is used up by the epithelium before it reaches the blood.

Mechanism: 80% of sodium butyrate by weight. This is the molecule the intestinal epithelium actually uses.

    Why we created PURE BUTYRATE™.

Because with butyrate, the hard part isn’t “what to add” but how to deliver it. Free butyrate is absorbed quickly in the upper digestive tract and smells so strong that it is hard to take every day.

So instead of piling on more extracts, we enclosed the full dose in extended-release micropellets. The capsule is transparent, so you can see what you’re taking.

PURE BUTYRATE isn’t an “everything for your gut” blend. It’s a single molecule at a full dose, in a carefully designed form. Purity, bioavailability and consistency are the SYNTHAGEN standard.

    Buy PURE BUTYRATE
How do I take PURE BUTYRATE™?
2 capsules once a day, ideally with a meal, with water. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. One jar contains 60 capsules, i.e. 30 servings for one month of use.
Does sodium butyrate have an unpleasant smell?
Not in this form. Regular sodium butyrate gives off a rancid-butter smell when it comes into contact with moisture. In PURE BUTYRATE™ it is enclosed in micropellets, so the capsules are virtually odorless and tasteless.
What is butyric acid, and where does it come from in the body?
It is a short-chain fatty acid that gut bacteria produce from fiber. It is the main energy source for the epithelial cells of the colon. A low-fiber diet means less raw material for producing it.
Can I combine PURE BUTYRATE™ with a probiotic?
Yes, it’s a natural pairing. A probiotic and fiber (e.g. in GUT BALANCE™) support the bacteria that make butyrate themselves, while PURE BUTYRATE™ supplies it directly. The products can be taken at the same time.
    What does “extended release” mean?
The butyrate is enclosed in micropellets that release it gradually as they pass through the digestive tract. Free butyrate is absorbed quickly in the upper section, while the pellets ensure that part of the dose is released further along. More in the Technology section.
Is the product suitable for vegans?
Yes. The capsule is made of plant-based hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), and the product is GMO-free.
    Does the product contain sodium?
Yes, sodium butyrate is the sodium salt of butyric acid. If your doctor has recommended a low-salt diet, consult them before using this product. The daily serving (2 capsules) contains 0.24 g of salt.
How should I store the product, and who is it not intended for?
Store in a tightly closed container in a cool, dry place, away from heat and light, out of reach of children. For adults only. Do not use if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use.
