GHK is a short peptide made of three amino acids: glycine, histidine and lysine. It binds copper strongly. In 1973, Loren Pickart isolated it from blood plasma. GHK concentration declines with age: from about 200 ng/ml in 20-year-olds to about 80 ng/ml after the age of 60.
